The Calgary Flames assigned defenceman Yan Kuznetsov to the Calgary Wranglers of the American Hockey League on Sunday.
Kuznetsov appeared in one game with the Flames, making his NHL debut on Jan. 9 against the Ottawa Senators. He had two shots on goal and was a minus-1 in 11:58 minutes of ice time during the Flames' 6-3 win.
The 21-year-old from Murmansk, Russia, also has two goals and five assists in 31 games with the Wranglers this season.
Kuznetsov was drafted in the second round, 50th overall, by the Flames in 2020. He captured the Memorial Cup with the QMJHL's Saint John Sea Dogs in 2022.
