After receiving an ovation coming into the Calgary Flames' Tuesday night loss, goaltender Dustin Wolf is getting the start Thursday against the Carolina Hurricanes.
The 22-year-old was recalled from AHL Stockton Monday after Jacob Markstrom broke his finger in practice and was listed as week-to-week.
Wolf was 10-3-2 with a 2.50 GAA and a .920 save percentage this season in the AHL. He was the most valuable player in the AHL last season.
This is Wolf's second recall to the NHL club this season. Including Tuesday's relief appearance, he has played in two games this season, posting a .882 save percentage and 3.66 GAA.
He made his NHL debut in the final game of Calgary's 2022-23 campaign, stopping 23 of 24 shots in his first career win over the San Jose Sharks.
Both the Flames and Hurricanes enter Thursday on two-game losing streaks. Calgary is 10-12-3 and 10th in the Western Conference, while Carolina is 14-10-1 and fifth in the East.
