Calgary Flames forward Jonathan Huberdeau is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, the team announced on Tuesday ahead of the game against the New Jersey Devils.
It is unclear when Huberdeau sustained the injury.
While the Flames termed it an upper-body injury, coach Darryl Sutter told reporters after Tuesday's loss in New Jersey that Huberdeau couldn't get his foot in a skate, per Wes Gilbertson of Postmedia.
Acquired in the off season as part of the blockbuster trade that sent Matthew Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers, Huberdeau has struggled to find his footing on the Flames with only one goal and six assists over 11 games.
Flames head coach Darryl Sutter referred to Huberdeau, who recorded a career-high 115 points last season, as a "work in progress" who needs to improve on "being a good player consistently" but didn’t want to single him out specifically as the Flames are mired in a five-game losing streak.
After a hot start out of the gate, the Flames are now fifth in the Pacific Division with a 5-4-2 record following their recent woes.
Watch the Flames face off against the Devils (9-3-0) starting at 7 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. MT on Sportsnet West or SN NOW (regional restrictions apply).
