Calgary Flames forward Jakob Pelletier will make his NHL debut on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Lightning after completing his ceremonial "rookie lap" during warm-ups.
Pelletier was called up from the AHL's Calgary Wranglers two weeks ago, but failed to crack the lineup until now.
The 21-year-old has had a tremendous season for the Wranglers, scoring 15 goals and dishing out 19 assists in 31 games.
He will look to provide an offensive spark to a Flames team who has lost back-to-back contests and, as of Saturday, are on the outside looking in of the NHL playoff picture.
Pelletier is expected to slot in on the team's fourth line.
