Having just finished a conditioning stint with the AHL Wranglers after suffering a shoulder injury in the pre-season, Calgary Flames forward Jakob Pelletier is making his season debut Tuesday night against the Boston Bruins.
The 22-year-old winger played four games with AHL Calgary during his conditioning stint over the All-Star break, lighting up for two goals and three points in that time.
He was sidelined after suffering a shoulder injury in a pre-season game against the Seattle Kraken, when he took a hit from behind that sent him into the boards. He underwent surgery in October and has been recovering since.
Pelletier would have made the opening night roster had he been healthy after an impressive showing with the big club down the stretch last season. He had three goals and seven assists in 24 appearances for the Flames in 2022-23.
The Quebec City native was selected 26th overall by the Flames at the 2019 NHL Draft.
Additionally, Andrei Kuzmenko is making his debut for the Flames five days after heading to Calgary as part of the package that sent Elias Lindholm to Vancouver.
You can watch the Flames take on the Bruins as they both return from the All-Star break, starting at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
