Calgary Flames forward Martin Pospisil will suit up for Slovakia at the IIHF Men's World Hockey Championship, the team announced Saturday.
The tournament takes place May 10-26 in Ostrava and Prague, Czechia.
Pospisil recorded 24 points (eight goals and 16 assists) in 63 games during his rookie season with the Flames.
The 24-year-old from Zvolen, Slovakia, also had six points (three goals and three assists) in six games with the Calgary Wranglers of the American Hockey League.
He was drafted in the fourth round, 105th overall, by the Flames in 2018.
Pospisil has represented Slovakia twice previously on the international stage competing in the 2017 under-18 championship and 2019 world junior championship.
