The Calgary Flames announced Saturday that forward Martin Pospisil has been placed on injured reserve after suffering an upper-body injury in Thursday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The team also announced that defenceman Dennis Gilbert has been activated from injured reserve and that Oliver Kylington has been returned to the NHL club following the end of his conditioning loan with Calgary's AHL affiliate.
Kylington remains on the long-term injured reserve as he continues to work through his return-to-play process. He appeared in two games and participated in multiple practices with the Wranglers.
In 33 games this season, Pospisil has four goals and 11 points. He left Calgary's loss to the Maple Leafs after awkwardly falling into the boards in the first period.
Gilbert last played with the Flames on Jan. 4 against the Nashville Predators and was forced to leave the game after taking a hit and being helped off the ice by teammates. He has played in 28 games this season with one goal and six points.
Earlier Saturday, Calgary recalled forward Matt Coronato.
The Flames take on the Edmonton Oilers at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m PT to cap off Hockey Day in Canada. You can catch all the action on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
