The Calgary Flames made a goalie change after the first period of their Sunday night contest against the Anaheim Ducks, pulling starter Jacob Markstrom in favour of Dan Vladar with the team trailing 2-0.
Markstrom gave up two goals on nine shots, including giving up a juicy rebound on the Ducks' second goal of the game.
The Swedish netminder also gave up a goal on the Ducks' opening shot of the game, which is the eighth time that has happened to him this season.
Coach Darryl Sutter's change seemed to spark the Flames, as Andrew Mangiapane scored to open the second period and cut the Ducks' lead in half.
After splitting time with Vladar earlier in the year, Markstrom has been the Flames' regular starter recently, starting between the pipes in the last four games.
Calgary, in the midst of a three-game winning streak, entered Sunday's contest just two points back of the Winnipeg Jets for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
