The Calgary Flames have signed forward William Stromgren to a three-year, entry-level contract that begins in the 2023-24 season.
Drafted 45th overall in the 2021 NHL Draft, Stromgren has also signed an amateur tryout (ATO) so he can join the team's AHL affiliate, the Calgary Wranglers, in the meantime.
The 19-year-old Swede spent the majority of 2022-23 with Brynäs IF of the SHL, where he collected eight points (three goals and five assists) in 45 games. He played for Team Sweden at the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship, earning a point in seven appearances.
