The Calgary Flames signed backup goalie Dan Vladar to a two-year extension on Thursday.
The two-year contract extension starts with the beginning the 2023-24 season, with an annual average value of $2.2 million. His previous contract was worth $2.25 million over three years with a cap hit of $750,000, signed while with the Boston Bruins, who drafted him 75th overall in 2015.
A native of Praha, Czech Republic, Vladar has been with the Flames since the beginning of the 2021-22 season. Last season, while largely serving in a backup capacity, he went 13-6 in 23 appearances with a 2.75 goals-against average and .906 save percentage.
