The Calgary Flames have added goaltending depth behind Dustin Wolf and Dan Vladar.
Penn State netminder Arsenii Sergeev has signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Flames worth an average annual value of $866,250, the team announced Monday.
The 22-year-old had a 19-9-4 record with a 2.54 goals against average and a .919 save percentage in 33 games with the Nittany Lions.
Sergeev will be able to move freely between the NHL and AHL while signed to the two-way deal. He will likely spend the majority of his time with the Calgary's AHL affiliate, the Wranglers, while potentially seeing time with the big club if needed.
