The Calgary Flames have signed centre Kevin Rooney to a two-year deal worth $2.6 million on Wednesday. Rooney's annual average value is set a $1.3 million.
The 29-year-old undrafted player spent the past two seasons with the New York Rangers. Rooney picked up six goals and six asssists in 61 games for the Blueshirts in the 2021-22 season.
The Canton, Mass., native also represented the bronze medal-winning United States national team in the 2021 IIHF World Hockey Championship.
