Flyers activate forward Kevin Hayes from injured reserve

The Philadelphia Flyers have activated forward Kevin Hayes from injured reserve.

Hayes had abdominal surgery back on Sept. 21 and was expected to miss six to eight weeks.

Hayes scored 12 goals and had 31 points in 55 games last season in his second year with the Flyers. Hayes also had surgery in May to fix a sports hernia.

Philadelphia also announced that forward Nicolas Aube-Kubel was claimed off waivers by the Colorado Avalanche. Aube-Kubel, 25, registered one point through seven games with the Flyers this season.
