  • Flyers' Konecny, Ersson not expected to miss time after leaving Canucks game early

The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-1 Thursday to sweep the season series, but lost two key players in the process.

Forward Travis Konecny and goaltender Samuel Ersson both did not finish the game, although head coach John Tortorella was optimistic both players would be fine.

Ersson, the starting goalie in the game, left early in the third period with what was later reported to be dehydration. He made 18 saves on 19 shots before being replaced by Carter Hart, who finished the game.

"He'll be fine, just cramped up," Tortorella said, later adding, "We haven't practiced a lot and a long travel day does that to your body. I thought Sam was terrific in the two periods he played."

Konecny only took two shifts in the third period and didn't see the ice in the final 15 minutes of the game. The Flyers' leading scorer had one assist in 14:55 of ice time.

"He'll be fine, there's a little bit of a bug going around our team," Tortorella said of Konecny.

The Flyers continue their northwest road trip Friday at Seattle.
