Two players are set to suffer blows to their wallets after incidents on Sunday.
The NHL's department of player safety announced on Monday that Philadelphia Flyers forward Matvei Michkov will be fined for high-sticking, while Chicago Blackhawks forward Pat Maroon will receive one for elbowing.
Michkov's incident occurred in the third period of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Kings, when he high-sticked forward Quinton Byfield.
He received a $2,473.96 fine, the maximum allowable under the collective bargaining agreement. The rookie forward received a minor penalty on the play.
Maroon, meanwhile, was fined $3,385.42 for his elbow on Dallas Stars forward Mavrik Bourque, the maximum allowable under the CBA.
The incident occurred in the third period and Maroon received a minor penalty on the play.
