Philadelphia Flyers forward Sean Couturier will miss a minimum of two weeks with a Costochondral separation, an injury in which the rib tears away from the cartilage that connects it to the breastbone.
Couturier was forced to leave Friday's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, a 5-2 win, during the first period. The play during which Couturier sustained the injury was not clear.
After the game, Flyers head coach Alain Vigneault told reporters the centre would be undergoing an MRI on his shoulder.
Last season's Selke winner, Couturier had 59 points across 69 games in 2019-20. He has an assist in two games this year.
