The Philadelphia Flyers signed goaltender Martin Jones to a one-year, $2 million deal, the club announced Wednesday.
Jones spent the past six years with the San Jose Sharks and backstopped the club to their first Stanley Cup Final appearance in 2016. He won the Stanley Cup with the Los Angeles Kings in 2014 as the backup to Jonathan Quick.
The 31-year-old from North Vancouver, B.C., posted a 15-13-4 record with a 3.28 goals-against average and .896 save percentage in 34 games with the Sharks during 2020-21. Although signed for three more years, the Sharks bought out the remainder of Jones’ contract on Tuesday.
