One thing is for certain: There is never any doubt how Philadelphia Flyers coach John Tortorella feels about something.
Tortorella, when asked Friday if he was concerned he would perceived as being old-school after banning iPads on the benches because they were distracting the players, told reporters, "I don't give a flying s--- how I'm perceived because it's my job to coach the team."
Tortorella's concern was reportedly borne from the fact the team has a lot of young players, and he didn't want them to be distracted by watching replays on the bench. Most NHL teams use iPads on the bench for players to watch instant highlights of their last shift, presumably to educate for the next shift and beyond.
"I'm not trying to be an idiot here. We have a major problem understanding the flow of games," Tortorella added.
In Tortorella's first year behind the Flyers bench, they are 17-18-7, third-worst in the Eastern Conference and 25th overall.
