The Vegas Golden Knights have activated All-Star goaltender Logan Thompson from injured reserve, the team announced Tuesday.
The 26-year-old netminder is expected to be the team's backup Tuesday against the Vancouver Canucks, with the newly acquired Jonathan Quick getting the start. Quick has four wins in five starts for the Knights since he was traded to the team on March 2.
Thompson suffered a lower-body injury back on Feb. 9 against the Minnesota Wild. The rookie netminder scrambled to make a save on Minnesota forward Frederick Gaudreau. After pushing off on his right leg, Thompson turned over and stayed face down on the ice before the referees stopped the play.
Thompson, a rookie, was named to the 2023 NHL All-Star Game. He has a .914 save percentage in 36 games this season.
Vegas is currently tied with the Los Angeles Kings atop the Pacific Divison with 92 points, but have one game in hand.
