Jack Eichel's artificial disk replacement surgery in his neck has been completed, and early reports say that the procedure went well, Sportsnet's Jeff Marek reports.

Eichel's surgery was scheduled to take place at Rocky Mountain Spine Clinic in Denver on Friday. Dr. Chad Prusmack spoke to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman and Jeff Marek in July about the surgery on a previous episode of the 32 Thoughts podcast.

The 25-year-old centre was obtained by the Vegas Golden Knights last week from the Buffalo Sabres, is expected to spend three weeks in Denver recovering, then move to Las Vegas where will spend the remainder of the expected three months of his rehab.
