Vegas Golden Knights forward Mark Stone is week-to-week with an upper-body injury, head coach Bruce Cassidy told reporters on Thursday.
The team specified the injury is unrelated to his back, for which he underwent surgery last January.
Stone sustained the injury late in the second period against the Nashville Predators on Feb. 20 when he was hit by Yakov Trenin of the Predators in the neutral zone.
Trenin was called for interference on the play.
Stone, who registered one shot on goal in 13:14 minutes of ice time, did not return for the third.
The 31-year-old Stone had yet to miss a game so far this season and leads the team in scoring with 53 points (16 goals and 37 assists) in 55 games.
He will sit out as his team takes on the red-hot Toronto Maple Leafs at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT.
