Vegas Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimmon said Thursday that goaltender Robin Lehner is out indefinitely and will begin the season on long-term injured reserve.
Lehner missed the entire 2022-23 season after undergoing hip surgery.
The Golden Knights will begin the season with All-Star Logan Thompson and Stanley Cup playoff hero Adin Hill sharing the net.
Lehner is a 12-year NHL veteran who has twice won the Williams Jennings Trophy for being on the team that allowed the fewest goals in a season. In 2021-22, he had a 23-17-2 record with a .907 save percentage.
