The Vegas Golden Knights have signed defenceman Dylan Coghlan to a two-year contract with an average annual value of $762,500.

The 23-year-old played in a career-high 29 games last season for Vegas, recording three goals and six points. After recording a hat trick on March 10 against the Minnesota Wild, Coghlan became just the third defenceman in NHL history to score each of his first three career goals in the same game.

Coghlan joined the Golden Knights after signing as an undrafted free agent on Sept. 20, 2017. He spent two seasons in the AHL with the Chicago Wolves, putting up 64 points in 126 games before making his NHL debut on Feb. 5, 2021 against the Los Angeles Kings.
