Whitecloud, 24, is on the final year of a two-year, $1.45 million extension he signed with Vegas in March 2020.
The undrafted player out of Brandon, Man., has played parts of four seasons with the Golden Knights since signing an entry-level deal with the team in 2018. He was a mainstay on the blue line for Vegas’ runs to the conference finals in both 2020 and 2021.
Whitecloud has recorded one assist through four games this season.
