It’s official: Connor McDavid has reached 100 points in only 53 games.
With four points in Saturday’s game against the Vancouver Canucks, it was a power play assist on a Leon Draisaitl goal that allowed the Edmonton Oilers captain to reach the century mark.
Not since the early 1990s when Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, and Jaromir Jagr were rewriting the record books have we seen a season like the one McDavid has put together.
With the hockey world in awe of such an accomplishment during a pandemic-shortened season, fans took to social media to celebrate the impressive feat.
What a time to be an Oiler fan. Honestly. Have witnessed so many Oilers moments, but was too young to appreciate. Tonight, I appreciate. The 06 run was amazing, unforgettable, but tonight watching McDavid get 100 is a legend we all will share #generational #sharedhistory
