The Carolina Hurricanes announced Wednesday evening that goaltender Frederik Andersen has been activated off of injured reserve.
The 33-year-old has been out since Nov. 6 with a lower-body injury, missing the Hurricanes' last 29 games.
Before the injury, Andersen had played in eight games, posting a 5-3-0 record with a 2.72 goals against average and .891 save percentage.
The team will travel to Columbus to play the Blue Jackets on Thursday, looking to put an end to a four-game losing streak.
In Andersen's absence, Pyotr Kochetkov has taken the reigns in net. He has played in 18 games since Nov. 11 with a 10-4-4 record, 2.30 goals against average and a .914 save percentage.
Carolina currently holds a 25-9-7 record and the first spot in the Metropolitan Division.
