Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov scratched with upper-body injury

The Carolina Hurricanes will take on the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night without their fourth-leading scorer.

The team announced just before the game was set to begin that Andrei Svechnikov will be sidelined with an upper-body injury.

It's not clear when Svechnikov suffered the injury. He played 19:03 in Thursday's game against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Svechnikov, 24, has 17 goals and 37 points in 52 games this season. He sits behind Mikko Rantanen, Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis in team scoring.
