Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen has been placed on injured reserve retroactive to Nov. 6.
The 33-year-old netminder suffered an undisclosed injury in a practice on Tuesday and missed Carolina's games on Wednesday and Thursday.
Andersen will be eligible to return on Nov. 14 when the Hurricanes are scheduled to face the Blackhawks in Chicago.
The former Maple Leafs' goalie has a 5-3 record in eight games with a 2.72 GAA and .891 save percentage this season.
The 10-year NHL veteran has won two William M. Jennings Trophies and finished fourth in Vezina Trophy voting last season.
