Carolina Hurricanes forward Max Pacioretty has exited and will not return to Thursday's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets due to a lower-body injury, the team announced.
The ailment is not related to his previous Achilles injury.
Pacioretty underwent surgery to repair a torn Achilles on Aug. 10.
The 34-year-old made his season and Hurricanes debut on Jan. 5 against the Nashville Predators and has come out of the gates hot, scoring three goals in his first four game.
Pacioretty was acquired by the Hurricanes last July in exchange for future considerations from the Vegas Golden Knights in a salary cap maneuver.
