The Carolina Hurricanes announced Saturday that they signed forward Gleb Trikozov to a three-year, entry-level contract. The deal will begin in the 2024-25 season and will pay Trikozov $775,000 at the NHL level and $82,500 at the AHL level for all three seasons.
He will also receive a signing bonus of $262,500.
A 19-year-old, Trikozov has played 39 games with the Omskie Kylia, Russia's second-highest professional league. He scored 11 goals and 21 points. He also appeared in two games with the KHL's Avangard Omsk and 10 games with the MHL's Omskie Yastreby.
The six-foot-one forward was selected by the Hurricanes in the second round (60th overall) in 2022.
“Gleb is a natural goal scorer who combines his high-level vision with a heavy shot,” said Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell in the team's statement. “He also uses his physicality effectively on both ends of the ice, and we’re excited to see how his game continues to develop in North America.”
