The Carolina Hurricanes clarified their goaltending situation a bit more by signing Pyotr Kochetkov to a four-year extension on Wednesday.
The team announced the signing on Twitter.
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports that the contract is worth $2 million AAV. Kochetkov will earn $842,500 this season. His new deal kicks in after this season.
Kochetkov, 23, is a native of Penza, Russia, and has a .914 save percentage and 2.00 goals-against average in four starts this season.
Playing largely back-up role to Frederik Andersen, Kochetkov was Carolina's second-round pick, 36th overall, in 2019.
