Ian Cole signs one-year deal with Utah Hockey Club

The Utah Hockey Club continues to stay busy in free agency.

Utah has signed veteran defenceman Ian Cole to a one-year, $3.1-million deal, the team confirmed Monday.

Cole, 35, had two goals and nine assists in 78 games with the Vancouver Canucks last season.

Cole has played 826 career games with the St. Louis Blues, Pittsburgh Penguins, Columbus Blue Jackets, Colorado Avalanche, Minnesota Wild, Carolina Hurricanes, Tampa Bay Lightning and Canucks.
