Ilya Samsonov will make a second consecutive start for the Toronto Maple Leafs when he takes the ice Wednesday night against the Winnipeg Jets, head coach Sheldon Keefe announced.
Samsonov made 16 saves in a 3-1 win over the Seattle Kraken on Sunday, his first win in a span of 43 days which included time in the AHL.
"Unbelievable," he said after the win, according to Sportsnet's Luke Fox. "It's huge for me. Long time, I didn't feel this.
"I'm really excited to be back to the team."
For the season, Samsonov has a 6-3-6 record with a .866 save percentage.
