The New York Islanders expect to get a key roster piece back in their lineup for Thursday's game against the Boston Bruins.
Speaking to reporters Wednesday, Islanders head coach Patrick Roy announced that the plan is for defenceman Noah Dobson to return from his 11-game injury absence.
The 25-year-old from Summerside, P.E.I., has not played since Jan. 20, when he suffered a lower-body injury in a collision along the boards with Columbus Blue Jackets forward Cole Sillinger that caused his right leg to bend at an awkward angle.
Dobson has six goals and 18 assists for 24 points in 46 games this season.
Through 363 career games, all with the Islanders, he has 215 points (46 goals and 169 assists).
