Jake Bean is coming home.

The Calgary-born defenceman signed a two-year deal with an average annual value of $1.75 million with the Flames on Monday.

Bean became a free agent after not getting a qualifying offer from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Bean had four goals and nine assists in 72 games for Columbus last season. He has played 197 career games for Carolina and Columbus.

The Hurricanes picked the 26-year-old Bean 13th overall in the 2016 NHL Draft.
