Storied hockey star Jaromir Jagr said he was unharmed after his vehicle and a tram collided on Plzenska street in Prague, Czechia, he wrote on Instagram.
In the social media post, Jagr accepted responsibility for the accident, saying he had looked before crossing over into the path of the tram but there was significant traffic that obstructed his view. He noticed the tram at the last minute, he said, when it was about "half a metre" in front of him.
"I thought it was my end," Jagr wrote, according to a translation by Google. "I have always believed that a higher power has a hand over me, and today I have seen it again. Thank God!"
The photo Jagr shared depicts at least one emergency vehicle on the scene. But, while the 50-year-old's vehicle sustained significant damage, he said he "climbed out without injury" and that "most importantly, nothing happened to the passengers on the tram."
