The Winnipeg Jets have acquired defenceman Brenden Dillon from the Washington Capitals in exchange for a pair of second-round picks in 2022 and 2023, per Sportsnet‘s Ken Wiebe.
The 30-year-old defensive defenceman has three years remaining on a $15.6-million deal signed with Capitals in October 2020.
Dillon put up 19 points in 56 games with the Capitals last season.
The native of New Westminster, B.C., has previously also spent time with the San Jose Sharks and Dallas Stars.
In San Jose, Dillon was frequently partnered with current Jets defenceman Dylan DeMelo, and his acquisition should round out Winnipeg’s top-four.
