The Winnipeg Jets are acquiring forward Nino Niederreiter from the Nashville Predators for a 2024 second-round pick, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman has learned.
Niederreiter has 18 goals and 28 points in 56 games with the Predators this season.
The 30-year-old Swiss winger joined Nashville as an unrestricted free agent last July after signing a two-year, $8-million contract.
Niederreiter was drafted fifth overall by the New York Islanders in 2010. He has 199 goals and 396 points over 12 seasons with the Islanders, Minnesota Wild, Carolina Hurricanes and Predators.
His best season came with Minnesota when he set career highs across the board with 25 goals and 32 assists for 57 points during the 2016-17 campaign.
The NHL trade deadline is Friday.
The Jets are second in the Central Division with a 35-23-1 record (71 points) but have lost two straight with the Minnesota Wild (70) and Colorado Avalanche (69) on their tails.
