Winnipeg Jets head coach Rick Bowness will not make the upcoming road trip with his squad as he continues to recover from COVID-19, the team told reporters on Wednesday.
Bowness, hired by the Jets in the off-season, missed the team's first four games of the season after contracting the virus. He returned last Saturday for a home game against the Toronto Maple Leafs but then exited a media session early on Monday because of dizzy spells and missed a game that night against the St. Louis Blues.
Associate coach Scott Arniel will serve as head coach for the team's games against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday, the Arizona Coyotes on Friday and the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday.
The Jets also said forward Nikolaj Ehlers will not play on the trip as he continues to deal with an undisclosed injury. Ehlers will travel with the team, however.
