Winnipeg Jets defenceman Brenden Dillon exited Saturday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs with an upper-body injury and will not return, the club announced.

It wasn’t immediately clear how Dillon sustained the injury, but he appeared to leave the bench at some point in the first period.

In his third year with the Jets, Dillon has scored six goals and notched nine assists in 46 games, averaging 18:51 of ice time.

The 33-year-old signed as an undrafted free agent to the Dallas Stars, where he played for parts of four seasons. He’s also suited up for the San Jose Sharks and Washington Capitals during his 15-year career.
