Mason Appleton is going to miss some time.
After sitting out of the lineup Monday against the Predators, Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel announced that Appleton will be out week-to-week with a lower-body injury.
Appleton has six goals and nine assists in 37 games this season. He had a career-high 14 goals and 36 points last season with Winnipeg.
The 28-year-old forward spent his first three seasons with the Jets before the Seattle Kraken selected him in the expansion draft. He played 49 games for the Kraken before being traded back to Winnipeg for a fourth-round pick.
With Appleton out, the Jets re-called forward Dominic Toninato from the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League and placed defenceman Haydn Fleury on injured reserve retroactive to Dec. 23.
