The Winnipeg Jets appear to be getting their No. 1 defenceman back soon.
Josh Morrissey shed his non-contact jersey and was a full participant in practice on Saturday for the first time since going down with a wrist injury in early October.
Morrissey didn't speak to the media after the skate but head coach Scott Arniel said, "He’s getting closer."
“That was the first time that we really got him ramped up," Arniel added without committing to Morrissey playing Sunday against the Lightning. "I’m not hiding anything. We’ve still got to get to see how this went after today’s practice. That decision won’t get made (yet). That full lineup won’t be (known) until (Sunday)."
The Jets have missed Morrissey in the lineup and sit seventh in the Central Division with a 6-8-3 record. But they have won two straight since snapping a nine-game losing streak with a dramatic five-goal comeback win over the Canadiens on Tuesday.
