Winnipeg Jets star Mark Scheifele rushed off the ice after taking a puck to the face late in Tuesday's win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
He did not return to the game, which the Jets won 5-0, but he did join his teammates on the ice to celebrate the win after the final buzzer.
After the game, head coach Rick Bowness said that Scheifele required some stitches to his right ear but did not have a further update on if he would need to miss time.
Scheifele was struck by a shot from teammate Josh Morrissey that seemed to be deflected on its way to the net.
Scheifele collapsed in a heap and had his hand over his face after the puck hit him. He quickly got to his feet but was bent over in visible pain as he skated off the ice.
Scheifele had one assist in the game and leads the league-leading Jets with 41 points this season.
