Mark Scheifele is expected to be back in the lineup Tuesday night when the Winnipeg Jets return from the All-Star break to visit the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Scheifele missed six games due to a lower-body injury that he suffered during the Jets' 2-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Jan. 11.
"It’s great to have [Scheifele] back," Jets coach Rick Bowness told reporters following Sunday's practice. "It was clear that we missed him. ... Give him a couple of games, figure it out and get the chemistry going again."
The 30-year-old centre has a team-leading 41 points (14 goals and 27 assists) in 41 games this season.
The Jets (30-12-5) look to erase a three-game losing streak when they take on the Penguins.
