The Winnipeg Jets were without defenceman Josh Morrissey Friday night in a win over the Detroit Red Wings
Morrissey, who was out with an illness, was replaced in the lineup by defenceman Logan Stanley.
After the game, coach Rick Bowness said Morrissey is expected to return Sunday against the New Jersey Devils.
Morrissey is having a career year for Winnipeg, with his 15 goals and 69 points both setting career highs. The 28-year-old is currently tied for third in the NHL for points by a defenceman.
Stanley has played in 17 games for the Jets this season and has one goal and two assists.
