Winnipeg Jets star Nikolaj Ehlers will miss the remainder of the regular season with an upper-body injury but could return for the playoffs, head coach Paul Maurice announced Monday.

Ehlers has 46 points in 47 games played for the Jets this season, with 21 goals and 25 assists. Ehlers tallied the lone goal for the Jets on Apr. 24 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Trailing only Mark Scheifele for points, Ehlers leads the Jets in game-winning goals with five, and is tied with Pierre-Luc Dubois for the top spot of overtime goals with two.

The Jets sit in second place in the North, one point ahead of the Edmonton Oilers who they face Monday night, and eight points back of the division-leading Maple Leafs.

Winnipeg has played two more games than Edmonton and one less than Torontom but have nine more regular season games including two against the Oilers and one against the Maple Leafs.
