The Jets will be without their superstar forward as they take on the Stars in a heavyweight matchup.
Winnipeg's Nikolaj Ehlers has been listed as out with a lower-body injury for the game against Dallas on Sunday, the team announced.
Ehlers did not participate in the team's warmups and line rushes before the game. Replacing him in his usual spot on the second line is Alex Iafallo.
The 28-year-old suffered the injury in Friday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights. He exited the game in the second period after the Golden Knights' Pavel Dorofeyev stepped on his foot while Ehlers was throwing a hit.
Ehlers, after also falling down, appeared to limp to the bench before eventually heading to the locker room. His final shift came just over six minutes into the period.
The 28-year-old, who has battled a handful of injuries throughout his career, is off to a strong start this season, recording 24 points (nine goals and 15 assists) in 23 games heading into Friday's matchup.
Winnipeg (18-6) is on the back of a two-game skid and has lost five of its last 10 after a roaring hot start to the season. The Stars (14-8) are close behind them in third place in the Central division.
