Winnipeg Jets rookie Cole Perfetti will miss a minimum of eight weeks with an upper-body injury, head coach Rick Bowness told reporters Friday.
Bowness said that the injury occurred in the Feb. 19 game against the New Jersey Devils and was unrelated to the injury the 21-year-old suffered last season. It will not require surgery, but will likely sideline Perfetti for the remainder of the regular season.
Perfetti had been playing on the top line for the Jets since the All-Star break and has had a respectable rookie campaign, notching eight goals and 30 points in 50 games. He was the 10th overall pick for the Jets in the 2020 NHL Draft.
