Winnipeg Jets defenceman Neal Pionk has been hit with a fine for clipping.
The NHL's Department of Player Safety announced the $5,000 fine on Sunday after Pionk laid a hip check on Florida Panthers forward Jesper Boqvist.
It occurred with a little over five minutes remaining in the third period of Saturday night's game, which the Panthers won 5-0.
The $5,000 fine, the maximum allowable under the league's collective-bargaining agreement, goes to the players' emergency assistance fund.
This marks the first time Pionk has received punishment from Player Safety since April 12, 2023, when he was fined the same amount for cross-checking.
Pionk, 29, has 17 points (three goals and 14 assists) in 18 games this season.
