The Winnipeg Jets announced on Friday that the club has placed forward Nikolaj Ehlers on injured reserve. The move is retroactive to Oct. 18.
The native of Denmark had missed Winnipeg's last two games against the Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights but no specifics about the injury have been disclosed.
The Jets have also recalled Dominic Toninato from AHL affiliate Manitoba Moose.
The 26-year-old Ehlers had 55 points (28 goals, 27 assists) in 62 games for the Jets last season.
The ninth overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft picked up 361 points (164 goals, 197 assists) in 480 career games.
